The Rio Grande Valley Builders Association invited building professionals in the construction industry from surrounding markets to serve as judges for its annual Parade of Homes competition. The event, which took place during the last week of April and first weekend of May in communities throughout the upper Rio Grande Valley, included 31 homes by Valley builders.

The Judges, who traveled from Corpus Christi, Houston, and Laredo, Texas, were escorted from home to home during the first weekend of the Parade with transportation provided by Boggus Ford of McAllen. The homes were judged on a variety of levels and competed for awards of excellence that were later given to the winning builders based on the compilation of the Judges’ individual scores.

Completing the Judging staff for the 2019 RGVBA Parade of Homes was Scott Martin, manager of Energy Rating Solutions, an Energy Consulting firm in Corpus Christi that provides rating and inspection services. Scott Martin reviewed the documents submitted by those builders who were competing for the “Most Energy Efficient Home” award.
