The Rio Grande Valley Builders Association Hosts Its Annual Fishing Tournament on South Padre Island (2019)

The Rio Grande Valley Builders Association will again host its annual Fishing Tournament on South Padre Island, Saturday, June 22, for members. Deadline to enter the tournament is Friday, June 14, and any changes to the roster of teams already registered will be Thursday, June 20th. Don’t miss this great opportunity to relax and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. What can be better than a friendly fishing competition to win many door prizes and lots of cash prizes!

Boats—up to 4 people per boat—will be competing for first and second place cash prizes in various fishing categories, such as the largest and heaviest redfish, speckled trout, and flounder. Additional cash prizes will be awarded to the redfish with the most spots and to the Grand Slam winner. The Grand Slam contest will require each team to enter one redfish, one flounder, and one speckled trout. Each species of fish must be within its legal size limit, and trout above 25” will not be accepted. The team with the largest combined weight will win the Grand Slam prize. Note that this is an RGVBA members only event, and no fishing guides are allowed.

Place: Jim’s Pier, South Padre Island

Fishing Hours: 6pm Friday, June 21 to 4pm Saturday, June 22

Weigh In: Saturday, June 22, 2pm to 4pm (Jim’s Pier)
