Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc. (AHSTI), received the 2019 “Most Homes Certified BUILT TO SAVE™ Award” for building the highest number of BUILT TO SAVE™ certified homes in the Non-Profit Builders’ division. Ever since 1976, the organization has been helping disadvantaged people achieve the dream of owning a home—and not just any home—a high-performance home.

AHSTI’s homeownership program, primarily for households earning at or below 80% of the area’s median income, has improved their quality of life while making them contributing members of the community.

AHSTI is committed 100% to high performance construction and qualifies every one of its homes in the ENERGY STAR® and BUILT TO SAVE™ programs to ensure that homeowners will enjoy lower utility bills every month and have homes with less maintenance.

The organization has received the Environmental Protection Agency’s “ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing” award for its exemplary commitment to the ENERGY STAR® Program.
