Building Futures: South Texas College Hosts 3rd Annual Construction Trades Expo
This past March 11, 2026, South Texas College’s Construction Management Program hosted its 3rd Annual Construction Trades Expo, which brought together students, educators, and industry professionals for a day focused on opportunity, innovation, and connection in the construction field.
The event highlighted the wide range of career pathways available in today’s construction industry—beyond traditional roles. Students participated in hands-on demonstrations and engaged directly with vendors, suppliers, builders, and real estate professionals, gaining valuable insight into the skills needed to succeed.
The Expo also served as a hub for industry leaders to network, collaborate, and strengthen partnerships across the Rio Grande Valley. These connections support workforce development and help ensure students are prepared to meet industry demands.
At its core, the Expo reflects South Texas College’s commitment to accessible education and career pathways. With more than 130 degree programs, the college offers opportunities across the construction spectrum—from architecture and project management to skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
By connecting education with industry, South Texas College continues to prepare the next generation of professionals to build stronger communities throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
